Sidestage proudly supported the 2024 Dare to Be Rare Gala at the National Arboretum Canberra, delivering complete production across audio, lighting, vision, and staging. As the primary fundraising event for Win the Day Charity the night raised over $400,000 to support local families as they navigate their children's oncology journey.

With guests spread across such a large room it was imperative that everyone had a great view of the keynote speakers, video presentations and the band. To achieve this Blackmagic 4K Cinema Camera's and 3x Full HD 6500 Lumen Projectors were installed and aimed at the venue's ceiling mounted screens.
The brief for lighting was to combine function with fun - Waterproof Fusion fixtures in bold rainbow colours transformed the Arboretum's entrance walkway, while on stage Fusion Bar provided gentle backlight for presentations which turned into high-intensity colour for the band.
Fusion Par uplights were spread throughout the main room highlighting all various architectural elements.

The National Arboretum Canberra is an acoustically challenging venue being so wide and featuring lots of highly reflective surfaces; having delivered a significant number of events space we know that a distributed audio system is the way to go.
In the center of the room an Adamson SpekTrix system provided the output needed for the dance floor while Adamson PC12 speakers (tucked out of sight along the windows) took care of coverage out wide.
This setup provided balanced coverage across the venue, ensuring every guest experienced the same high quality sound, regardless of seating location.

The result was an extremely successful, emotionally charged and enjoyable evening that raised much needed funds to support local families. Sidestage is proud to support events that drive real positive outcomes and we thank Win the Day Charity for trusting us with this special production.
