On May 27 2025, Sidestage supported the public forum “Eyes on the Ground in Gaza” with Dr Mohammed Mustafa, hosted by Senator David Pocock at the Great Hall of Australian Parliament House.

We were engaged to deliver full technical production for the event, including live audio, lighting, image magnification (IMAG), and live streaming services. With a tight setup window and working in a high-profile venue, our goal was to ensure the event ran smoothly and that the messaging was clearly delivered to both in-person and online audiences.
Five handheld Shure ULXD microphones were deployed, including two for panel use and three for roaming Q&A. We used QSC K-series speakers in conjunction with the in-house system and an Allen & Heath SQ-5 mixing console to provide consistent coverage for the room.
Our all-in-one video switching rig and Teradek VidiU Go streaming system provided a stable, broadcast-quality livestream.
Three Blackmagic 4K Studio Cameras captured the event, with one directed to stream output and one for archival recording. The full stream is available here: YouTube link, where it has already been viewed over 7,000 times.
Two 86-inch 4K displays were mounted on truss uprights to ensure good visibility throughout the hall, particularly for those seated toward the back.

Epson projectors, aimed at flown Screens were placed to show the live camera feeds. All rigging was installed in compliance with Parliament House’s technical and safety requirements.
A lighting package was used, including FusionPAR, FusionWash, and Ayrton Ghibli-S fixtures. These were controlled via GrandMA3 Light to provide face lighting and decorative lighting.
We placed a large drape behind the stage to protect the Great Hall Tapestry with light, a requirement of the venue for the long term preservation of the beautiful artwork.
Three dedicated operators handled sound, camera, and vision switching during the event. Our full team managed setup and pack down over two days within the required access window.
Working in the Great Hall requires close coordination, clear communication, and a methodical approach. Our team was proud to support this event with the same level of detail and professionalism we apply across all Sidestage projects.
For public events, conferences, or panel discussions requiring audio, lighting, and livestream support, Sidestage provides scalable and dependable solutions across Canberra and beyond.
