Sidestage supported Senator David Pocock’s Town Hall at The Jetty on Lake Burley Griffin, delivering a clear and cost-effective AV solution for an engaged crowd of nearly 500. With a focus on accessibility and speech clarity, our setup helped amplify conversations around political integrity, housing, climate, and more, featuring contributions from Dr Monique Ryan and Dr Helen Haines.

To ensure full audio coverage across the open-air venue we strategically deployed QSC K.2 Series loudspeakers - a mainstay of our inventory, the K.2 family delivers a powerful, flat frequency response with the inbuilt amplifier making for a quick and tidy setup . Our operators know they can trust the QSC range to perform in all settings however they are particularly well suited to presentations like this.

A system of Shure ULXD wireless microphones was provided for panelist use with the Beta58A capsules ensuring even the quietest presenters could be heard without nasty audio feedback.

On the vision front, we used a Blackmagic G2 4K Studio Camera capturing high-quality footage suitable for archive and future use; at the conclusion of the event both raw footage and an edited compilation was provided to Senator Pococks's team to allow the event’s messages to reach future audiences.

Part of the program required presentations to be shown to the audience. Due to the venue’s large windows and an abundance of natural light projection was not viable. Instead we installed high-definition 65-inch LED displays around the room which meant that wherever you looked a screen was seen.

This setup highlighted how a well-considered AV plan can support both content and audience connection. Clean audio, crisp visuals, and simple execution combined to create a professional environment without unnecessary complexity.

Thanks to Senator David Pocock’s team and The Jetty for the opportunity to deliver a setup that prioritised clarity, control, and accessibility.
